About The Healthcare Estates Conference
The theme of this year’s conference was “Our Heritage, Your Future” where the focus was on new technology, innovation, and streamlining of processes in the NHS, and how they are helping to save money, increase efficiency, and improve patient experience. It was a particularly special event as the NHS turned 70 this year, and The Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management (IHEEM) turned 75, so there was much to celebrate.
As part of our commitment to improving hygiene-critical environments through innovation, we were delighted to launch our new product at the event.
ThermCheck™ is set to revolutionise the way that maintenance teams can measure water temperature in the prevention of bacteria, in particular, Legionella. Legionella bacteria is commonly found in water and the bacteria multiply where temperatures are between 20-45°C. Water temperature must be routinely monitored to prevent Legionnaires’ disease which is a potentially fatal type of pneumonia, contracted by inhaling airborne water droplets containing Legionella bacteria.
ThermCheck™ thermocouples ensure that pipe surface temperature is between the correct boundaries giving healthcare teams peace of mind that water is safe. The Thermcheck™ device is installed during manufacture and is an excellent addition to our Hygipod and Vanity units.
Committed to health, hygiene and safety
Alongside the introduction of ThermCheck™, we were pleased to announce that we’ve updated our fire accreditation, so that our Hygidoors comply with Exova Q Marking Scheme for Fire Door Manufacturing. This update reaffirms our commitment to safety and quality assurance and controls within our Hygidoor manufacturing facility.
