The innovative nature of Trovex’s hygienic products sees our team working with many NHS hospitals across the UK to improve facilities and ensure compliance to strict health and hygiene standards. We were delighted to recently complete a project at Southend University Hospital in Southend on Sea, Essex.
Southend University Hospital is a busy Trust with over 150 consultants providing various services to a catchment area with a population of about 350,000 people. Our challenge was to ensure the project ran smoothly with minimum disruption to the everyday running of services.
The brief was to provide a number of products to improve the elective admissions lounge which is a pre-operative area where patients are admitted and prepared for their operation. It’s important that this is a place of calm and of course, hygiene and comfort are paramount in such areas.
We worked with an architecture firm on this project to design the area, and the project required both Trovex Hygipods and Trovex Hygidoors complete with
woodgrain finishes from the Trovex Essence colour collection to brighten the space and create a sense of wellbeing.
Hygipods are the ultimate modular wash station unit and perfect for hospitals where the prevention of infection can literally save lives. The Hygipods have impervious hygienic surfaces and their lack of joins make them easy to keep clean and minimise bacteria. Doors and door handles are hotbeds for germs and bacteria so Trovex Hygidoor doorsets were specified for their hygienic finish and also due to their robust and hard-wearing design and speed of installation.
During the project there were some unexpected requests out of the original scope of work, but our experienced team rose to each challenge and ensured delivery of four new double swing doors to meet the deadline. The new request was dealt with promptly and professionally and the client is delighted with the results of the project.
The elective admissions unit has a clean and sleek design and successfully blends practicality and pleasing aesthetics. We’re delighted to continue our working relationship with Southend University Hospital and we will be working together on another project to refurbish a ward in the near future.
Please get in touch to discuss your next project.
