Trovex products continue to set the benchmarks for hygienic solutions, outstanding design and unparalleled performance.
In the highly competitive healthcare industry, it is essential for Trovex to maintain a product portfolio at the cutting edge of modern healthcare solutions. From product renewal or the design of new technologies, for Trovex, innovation is a core objective and the company has been constantly investing in solutions that can improve and reinvent the healthcare experience.
Royal Free Hospital
Established in 1828, the Royal Free London NHS Founding Trust is one of the UK’s biggest trusts, delivering care to more than 1.6 million patients each year in three main hospitals. For nearly two centuries the hospital has continue to lead improvements and innovation through world class expertise and local care.
The Royal Free Hospital has used Trovex products before with great success. For the refurbishment project of the Ward 8 East, Respiratory Medicine area, Trovex proudly provided state-of-the-art facilities in the corridor walls, staff rooms and patient rooms by supplying and installing Trovex Hygipods, Trovex Diamond Hygienic Wall Cladding and Trovex Gallery.
In addition, Trovex supplied Washrooms & Cubicle System for the reception area of the hospital.
Trovex Project Director Fred Davis said: “For the respiratory area we wanted to produce a more interesting and inspiring aesthetic environment so used the “wow-effect” that this product gives. The versatility and range of benefits offered by Trovex Gallery make it a successful solution for creativity in hygienic areas.”
“The hospitals architecture has gained a new focus. Nowadays the projects conceive spaces that, besides functional, also contribute to the recovery of patients. In practice, the respiratory area of the Royal Free has gained a welcoming air with bespoke finishes and colours that differ from the traditional hospital standard.” Says Product Development Designer, Samuel Kingston.
Meeting challenges on site
The eight-week project involved the installation of Trovex Gallery, Trovex Diamond and Hygipods on the corridors of Ward 8 East and Trovex Washrooms System for the reception floor.
On the Trovex Gallery project, the trust opted for images of the Hampstead area taken by Hermione Hardwick.
“It was a fast track project and an effective and flexible plan was designed considering the time given to accessing the areas to minimise potential disruption to staff and patients.”
The Royal Free Healthcare trust had experience with the Hygipod system at the Barnet General Hospital. For this project the Trovex team worked with the contractor to create bespoke units that could suit the very tight spaces available whereby the units were rebated into the walls. Therefore, the Hygipods installed worked very well with the welded Trovex Diamond Wall Cladding creating a seamless room feel, integrated into the room decoration in a subtle, elegant way.
Complying with HBN 00-10 regulations, specifiers can be sure that the Trovex healthcare product range exceeds the national standards.
“We are extremely pleased with the completed respiratory ward project’’
Jack Millar, Project Manager at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust.
